THE NORMA AWARD

The Norma Award, in honor of former member Norma Demaar, is awarded annually to an exemplary member who goes above and beyond for St Charles Women's Club.  This year's deserving Norma Award recipient is Lori Callis.

Our 2024-25 Norma Award recipient could not be more worthy of this honor. Lori Callis embodies the Norma qualities with such class and zest that it’s clear why she is also our next president.
Lori is always putting the needs of the club as a priority and understands how to not only fill her roles to perfection but also tidy up all of our loose ends. She dots the i’s and crosses the t’s for all of us! Her thoroughness is beyond compare!
Lori is also the smiling face and inviting home for any member. She always listens, laughs, and makes you feel welcomed.
When I think of a Norma Award recipient, I think of someone like Lori who makes you want to be a part of the St Charles Women’s Club. Lori sets the example!
2024 - 2025 President, Jennifer Boyd

In the Words of LORI

Membership in the Saint Charles Women’s Club has truly been one of the greatest gifts I have given myself over the past three years. I’ve made so many wonderful friendships with truly authentic women who inspire me with their kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand. It’s such a supportive and welcoming group, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a community that values connection, service, and friendship.
I made a commitment to myself in 2022 when I first joined the club without knowing any of the members that I would keep “showing up” – keep engaging with others, being involved with activities, and meeting new people (which is very unlike me since I can be quite a homebody). I can honestly say this group made it easy as there are no strangers here. Getting involved with the Girls’ Night Out committee during my second year was another great decision as I love planning activities and outings; and I especially loved seeing others enjoy events that we had coordinated.
SCWC has also deepened and broadened my family’s connections with the Saint Charles community. We are all so very thankful for the friendships and experiences that this club has provided not only me, but our entire family. I can honestly say that I have found a group in which I feel at home and I can be myself.
